During the last college lacrosse season, the college game was very competitive. Players like Mikey Powell, Gary Gait, and Jessie Coffield could all stand out. This is why it was necessary to list the top five college lacrosse players.

Jessie Coffield

Jessie Coffield is a college lacrosse player who has made a name for herself as a sports broadcaster and host. She has worked with the sports network CBT News and has also been a part of several Super Bowl commercials.

Before starting her career as a television reporter, she earned a degree in communication from Boston College. In addition, she played field hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and PeeWee soccer. During her senior year, she was named captain of the women’s lacrosse team and won the NCAA National Championship.

As a high school player, she played in the VISLA state championship. Her school, Alexandria Sportsmen Club, also won the ISL conference championship. She was named the John Morrow Stanton Athletic Award for her outstanding athletic performances.

Jim Brown

It’s hard to think of a college lacrosse player who significantly impacted the sport more than Jim Brown. He was the most dominant player in the history of the game.

Not only did he become a lacrosse superstar, but he also helped change the game’s rules. At Syracuse, he led the team to an undefeated season. He was also one of the most prolific scoring players in lacrosse history.

Brown was the first African-American to earn First-Team All-American honors in lacrosse. His 43 goals in 10 games were the second-highest total in college lacrosse.

Before his time at Syracuse, Brown played box lacrosse at Onondaga College. He had a knack for hitting. He was selected as the S.U.’s Athlete of the Year in his senior year.

Gary Gait

A member of the Hall of Fame, Gary Gait is a legendary athlete whose career spanned twenty years. He won three Major League Lacrosse (MLL) titles and was a member of the Canadian national team. His style of play changed the game forever.

Gait is considered one of the best lacrosse players of all time. He is a four-time all-American and led the Syracuse Orange to three NCAA championships.

Gait has the distinction of having one of the most prolific scoring careers in NCAA history. During his career, he averaged 5.80 points per game. In addition, he tallied 70 goals in the 1986-1987 season, a record for a Syracuse University player.

When Gait was a junior, he was named the National Lacrosse League’s most valuable player. He also earned the NCAA’s Player of the Year and Most Outstanding Player awards in 1988 and 1990.

Mikey Powell

Mikey Powell is one of the most dominant collegiate lacrosse players. He played at Syracuse University and was a two-time National Champion. His career at S.U. ranks sixth in school history for points and assists.

Powell was also named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team in 2003 and 2004. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament in both seasons.

In addition to his NCAA All-American status, he was selected for the Jack Turnbull Award. This award is given to the best attackman in the nation. He won the Jack Turnbull Award four times during his four-year collegiate career.

When he graduated from Syracuse in 2004, he became the all-time leading point scorer for the Orange. In his senior season, he scored 89 points.

Paul Rabil

Paul Rabil is one of the top five college lacrosse players of all time. In his sophomore year, he was a first-team all-American. He also played on a national championship team. And he was a two-time league MVP.

When he graduated from DeMatha, he went on to play in the National Lacrosse League. He had a short career, but he made a mark. He has won multiple All-Pro selections and is a part of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

He is also the only American ever to win the NLL’s MVP. His accomplishments are too numerous to list.

He was a member of the Washington Stealth’s champion’s cup team in 2010. His team was the only undefeated team in the National Lacrosse League that season.
